If you are struggling to choose an implant for breast augmentation surgery!

Recently, there are many women who invest time and money without hesitation in order to maintain a slim and voluminous body, not just a beautiful face. Especially for those who have a lack of volume in their breasts, sagging breasts, lack of elasticity, or different sizes on both sides, they may try to improve their appearance with methods like Breast Augmentation Surgery.

In such cases, the important aspects to consider during a breast augmentation surgery are not only the volume, but also the natural shape and feel, so many people who are considering inserting implants for breast enlargement worry about choosing the type of breast implant. So in this post, I will explain in detail the types and characteristics of breast implants.

What types of breast implants are used in breast augmentation surgery?

There are a lot of types of breast implants and companies that manufacture them. Firstly, looking at the types of implants, there are Motiva, Mentor, Sebin, Euro Silicone, Bellagel, Allergan, etc. These types of implants can be broadly divided based on the surface of the implant, which can be the smoothest Smooth type, the mid-level Micro texture type, and then the very rough Texture type of implant. Although typical textured implants or teardrop-shaped implants are still available, they are mostly not used, and recently, there is a high tendency to mainly use smooth implants, which have a smooth surface.

In our clinic, the Mentor Xtra and Motiva implants that we primarily use are also classified as smooth implants, so it would be accurate to say that we are currently using mostly smooth implants overall.

What are the characteristics of the implants used in breast augmentation surgery?

First of all, in the case of the Mentor Xtra implant, it is well known for having a very soft gel feel and comes in two types: a soft smooth type and a uniform micro-texture type. Therefore, it can be said to be one of the smoothest implants. It has a characteristic of having a thin shell on its surface, which stretches well and does not tear easily, so those who value the feel can be satisfied by using the Mentor Xtra implant. On the other hand, in the case of Motiva implants, the viscoelasticity of the gel (a property that shows both viscosity and elasticity when force is applied) is relatively strong, so they can be said to be more resilient compared to Mentor implants.

These firm and highly viscoelastic implants are advantageous in stretching the lower breast, which is necessary for a beautiful breast shape after breast augmentation surgery, compared to Mentor implants.

Also, in the case of Motiva, it has a wider range of sizes than other company's implants, which can be advantageous for those with asymmetrical breasts (uneven breasts) as it allows to better match the sizes. In this way, implants used in breast augmentation surgery come in various types and have different characteristics, so when choosing the type of breast implant, it is advisable to compare various implants considering the shape and size of the individual's chest and physical condition, rather than insisting on just a larger size implant to increase volume.

Breast augmentation surgery is one of the more complex and difficult surgeries compared to other cosmetic surgeries, and since it involves a wide range of surgical procedures that affect tissues and ducts, it should be performed by experienced medical professionals with a high understanding of the body and extensive clinical experience in breast augmentation in order to expect satisfactory results.

In addition, in order to achieve satisfactory results from breast surgery with safety as a basic premise, it is necessary to check whether the hospital has a well-organized safety system and the career of the medical staff who perform the surgery, as well as whether a specialist in anesthesiology and pain medicine is present during and after the surgery.

If you are considering breast augmentation surgery, we recommend that you first consult with a skilled medical professional with extensive experience who can help you achieve a beautiful line by considering your individual body shape, skin characteristics, needs, and evaluating factors such as touch, shape, naturalness, and safety.
