While a smooth and slim facial shape emerges quickly as an standard of beauty, angular and flat faces can become one's complex. Many people are considering having facial contour, or have already done facial contour, in order to improve the facial shape. We can improve the bumpy and over-developed facial bone into a small, soft and well-defined facial shape by doing osteotomy and trimming the face smoothly. Therefore, many people look for facial contour, in other words, cheekbone reduction, square jaw reduction or jaw reduction. Although it is popular as a surgery that can eliminate the complex and improve functional problems like dysmasesis, surgery that excessively resects the facial bones or does not fit the facial balance may cause side effects such as unnatural facial shapes or nerve damage.

Therefore, although there are many people who are satisfied with the facial contour, there are people who are considering revision surgery due to the aforementioned unnatural facial shape or different side effects too. As many people want to undergo revision surgery as soon as possible because they are in a hurry, many people are interested to the timing of having facial contour revision surgery after the previous surgery if they want to have a safe and good revision surgery.

So, how long do we need to wait after the previous surgery to do the facial contour revision surgery?

Although most of the people would like to improve the unsatisfying facial shape as quick as possible, the timing of the facial contour revision can affect whether a satisfying result can be created or not, so the timing to do the facial contour revision surgery is the most important.

In general, for the revision surgery after the first surgery, we can say that it is better to do it at least 6 months after the previous surgery, when there are no more acute side effects (inflammation, bleeding or foreign body reaction...etc.), and the scars of the surgical site have been mature and soft enough. That is because the swelling after facial contour surgery is more serious than that after other plastic surgeries, because facial contour is a surgery that deal with the bones. While the swelling is sever after the surgery, the fine swelling will go down gradually, and it can takes at least 6 month, or even up to 1 year if it goes down really slow, for the swelling to going down gradually, so it is not too late to decide whether to or not to have the revision surgery after you have kept looking at the condition of the face, at the time when at least 6 months have passed since the previous surgery. This may vary depending on the individual's surgical site or condition, but it is recommended to have the revision surgery at least 6 months to 1 year after the pervious surgery, when the tissues have become soft enough.

Usually, for square jaw revision surgery, revision surgery that trim the contour of the bone again is recommended to be done about 6 months after the first surgery, if there are no acute side effects like inflammation after the surgery. However, cheekbone reduction revision surgery is different.

If the bones do not stick together and droop down after the cheekbone reduction, it is dangerous when the bones are not fixed well on the position that it should be after the surgery, they may melt and disappear, or the bones may stick to a strange position. Therefore, it is better for you to do the revision surgery quickly after having sufficient consultation with medical team.

As such, depending on the situations, the surgery method or the timing can be different, so having the surgery done in an accurate way after having sufficient consultation with medical team which has rich anatomical knowledge about the bones and extensive experiences is a shortcut to prevent another revision surgery.

As facial contour revision surgery is a more difficult surgery compared with other surgeries, it is more mentally demanding for those who are considering having facial contour revision surgery. Therefore, when you do the revision surgery, you should be pickier and more careful than the time when you do the first surgery. In the case of revision surgery, as the tissues and the bones have been modified once already, we need to solve the problems like side effects and make a design to improve the cosmetic part at the same time, so this surgery is very difficult. As a result, you should be diagnosed by medical team which has prepared for various risks and emergencies of facial contour revision surgery, and which can analyze the problems of the previous surgery thoroughly and improve the unsatisfactory parts.

In addition, for more natural and satisfactory results, please give up your excessive greed and make a surgical plan considering the overall balance of your face.

Everything You Need to Know Before Getting a Nose Job in Korea [Jayjun Plastic Surgery Q&A]

Everything You Need to Know Before Getting a Nose Job in Korea [Jayjun Plastic Surgery Q&A] Today, we have compiled clear answers from a Jayjun Plastic Surgery specialist in Korea to frequently asked questions by patients who are considering rhinoplasty.  Please note that surgical methods and outcomes may vary depending on the individual, so use this information as a general guide. Q1. Can the nasal tip be raised and improved naturally using only septal cartilage? Yes, it can be possible, although it depends on individual conditions. In the past, surgeries were done using only septal cartilage, and even now, if the conditions allow, natural and sophisticated results can be achieved with septal cartilage alone. However, if the nose is very small or upturned (short nose), cartilage alone may not provide enough support, so a stronger structure is needed to fix the tip. In such cases, rib cartilage (autologous or donated) may be used. In principle, if there are no major nasal issue...

👉 Medial Epicanthoplasty for men Eyes, which play an important role in the first impression, are innately different in shape and size. Some people have large, round eyes, while others have narrow and small eyes. In particular, more than 70% of Koreans have Mongolian folds that locate from the top of the upper eyelid down to the front corners of the eyes, so there are many cases in which the distance between the eyebrows is wide or the horizontal length of the eyes is short due to wrinkles. In today's society, where people are more concerned about their appearance, their small, indistinct and stuffy-looking eyes become their troubles. It's not just women's problem. Recently, as more and more men are interested in aesthetics as much as women, more and more men are taking care of their appearance to create a pleasing image. Therefore, the popularity of male eye surgery, which tends to change the image considerably even with small changes, is steadily increasing. Unlike women,...
