Way to enlarge the eyes: Lateral epicanthoplasty and lower epicanthoplasty

 Way to enlarge the eyes!

 Lateral epicanthoplasty and lower epicanthoplasty

As interpersonal relationships are important in modern society, I think our first impression is very important. Our first impression determines the overall image of the face and has a great influence on various areas such as employment, interviews, or social life. Especially these days when we have to wear a mask, eyes become a very important factor in our first impression. If the width of our eyes is short or the end of our eyes goes up. we may give others a dull or fierce impression, and it may become complex for us. Therefore, people are more and more interested in eye plastic surgery these days, as a relatively simple eye plastic surgery can give a huge image change to people. As people nowadays care more about personal styles, rather than simply enlarging the eyes, more people prefer to change the width and shape of their eyes. Recently, more and more people who prefer a nice and soft impression are considering having an epicanthoplasty.

Among those people, for those whose eye width is short or the outer corner of eyes goes up extensively, lateral epicanthoplasty or lower epicanthoplasty will be done for improvement. In general, lateral epicanthoplasty is a surgery that increases the horizontal width of the eyes, while lower epicanthoplasty is a surgery that pulls down about 1/3 of the outer corner of the eyes in a downward direction.

In many cases, both lateral epicanthoplasty and lower epicanthoplasty are performed, to change the dull image into a fresh image through the extension of the length of the outer corner and adjustment in the angle. For the situation in which the outer corner goes up, creating a fierce impression, lowering the outer corner in an appropriate angle can help change the fierce impression into a nice impression. Also, epicanthoplasty is gaining more and more popularity because it can enlarge the size of the eyes as much as you want in a very short period of time.

Lateral epicanthoplasty involves a complete incision of the inner part of the conjunctiva, and the ends of the eyes need to be efficiently fixed to the peritoneum and fascia. At this time, the tissue that can cause adhesion needs to be properly removed in order to reduce the risk of adhesion. Also, in order to create a natural eye line without noticeable scars, the skill to do the stitching inside the conjunctiva is needed. Only by doing that, nice and clear eyes can be created and a satisfying outcome can be gained.

Epicanthoplasty does not just simply increase the size of the eyes, but it requires the process of properly extending the outer corner is located outside of the sclera outward and downward. If the width of the eyes is lengthened and the outer corner is lowered to the level that matches the balance of the face, the eyes will look larger, nice, clear, and natural.

However, if epicanthoplasty is done excessively, severe scars may be left by excessive incisions or poor outcomes in which the area around the outer corner of the eyes looks like a "c" shape. In addition, it is easy for the red tissue of the skin or conjunctiva to be exposed, making the eyes look unnatural and resulting in a fierce impression, which may lead people to consider having a reoperation.

For cases in which the outer corners go up too much, leading to a fierce impression, or the area of sclera being seen is too small, leading to a dull eye, double eyelid surgery can be done together with the epicanthoplasty in order to make longer and clearer eyes. At this time, rather than insisting on making the eyes look bigger blindly, you should analyze the height of the double eyelid, the strength for the eyes to open, the width and position of the eyes, and the degree of symmetry between both eyes and find a suitable surgical mean in order to gain a natural outcome.

Therefore, it is desirable for you to have a 1:1 consultation with surgeons who have extensive experience and know-how, and who will consider the suitable size of your eyes for your face shape and the balance of your facial features. In addition, please do not forget that in order to minimize the possibility of tissue damage or scarring that may occur during the surgery, an accurate solution and treatment as well as careful follow-up checking is needed.

In our clinic, we do not perform 100% same surgery for every patient. To further boost the personal charm of each individual, we look at the overall structure of the eyes, and our medical staff with extensive clinical experience conduct one-stop consultation and follow-up management. So if you are considering having epicanthoplasty, please consult the doctor first.

Everything You Need to Know Before Getting a Nose Job in Korea [Jayjun Plastic Surgery Q&A]

Everything You Need to Know Before Getting a Nose Job in Korea [Jayjun Plastic Surgery Q&A] Today, we have compiled clear answers from a Jayjun Plastic Surgery specialist in Korea to frequently asked questions by patients who are considering rhinoplasty.  Please note that surgical methods and outcomes may vary depending on the individual, so use this information as a general guide. Q1. Can the nasal tip be raised and improved naturally using only septal cartilage? Yes, it can be possible, although it depends on individual conditions. In the past, surgeries were done using only septal cartilage, and even now, if the conditions allow, natural and sophisticated results can be achieved with septal cartilage alone. However, if the nose is very small or upturned (short nose), cartilage alone may not provide enough support, so a stronger structure is needed to fix the tip. In such cases, rib cartilage (autologous or donated) may be used. In principle, if there are no major nasal issue...

Some people have large, round eyes, while others have narrow and small eyes. In particular, more than 70% of Koreans have Mongolian folds that locate from the top of the upper eyelid down to the front corners of the eyes, so there are many cases in which the distance between the eyebrows is wide or the horizontal length of the eyes is short due to wrinkles. In today's society, where people are more concerned about their appearance, their small, indistinct and stuffy-looking eyes become their troubles. It's not just women's problem. Recently, as more and more men are interested in aesthetics as much as women, more and more men are taking care of their appearance to create a pleasing image. Therefore, the popularity of male eye surgery, which tends to change the image considerably even with small changes, is steadily increasing. Unlike women,...
